Natural Medicine Textbooks
Welcome! This site provides access to what will be a series of medical handbooks, review books and reference texts specializing in the interactions between commonly prescribed drugs and botanical medicines.

Many people today are on what is known as "polypharmacy"--they are taking numerous prescription drugs and often are seeking out natural botanical medicines due to either their own philosophies, concern over putting foreign chemicals into their bodies, concern over side effects or just simply a desire to minimize their medications. Many medical doctors are interested in knowing--and need to know--how different herbal products their patients are taking interact with their prescriptions. My fellow naturopathic physicians also need to know what medications their patients are on in order to specifically tailor the botanicals used to their patients needs as well as to minimize any interactions. For the most part, botanical medicines have much fewer side (adverse) effects, but the practicing naturopathic physician needs to know the medications and their potential interactions, as does the conventional physician.

These books, and a planned series of books on healing, homeopathy, laboratory diagnosis and case-based review books are intended to benefit and inform patients, physicians and medical students.
